Socratic Method

Socratic Method
"I cannot teach anyone the only thing i can do is to make them think!"
Socrates,a Greek philosopher, is a shrewd sketch of emerging thoughts in people around him. He always try to question what he already knows turning people to think of different phemomenon. He used to ask question about bravery temperance above all justice. In this way he makes people  think and understand a term.
SOCRATES

He gave the concept of "know Thyself", according to him  "an unexamined life is not worth living"
Whenever he feels the necessity of discussion he goes to market place and asked people if they know something about this or that phenomenon.
A brief example is under
Socrates went to marketplace and asked a person
Socrates: is justice means to urge a right?
Person: yes,yes sir.
Socrates: But what if we stick to a negative right and exploit other?
Person: yes sir, you are right!
socrates: But if we say justice is to stand by a right which donot exploit any one else. It means justice is knowledge?
Person: yes sir, it also seems right.
Socrates: it means all we know about justice is its a knowledge to distinguish between right and Wrong?
Person: Yes sir, this is right.
Thats how he help people to give birth to a knew thought in there minds

Socrates' mother was a midwife the women he was much inspired of. He called himself a midwife, quoting him: "I,like my mother, am a midwife who only helps to give birth to what is inside them."
SOCRATES' PERSCUTION

He revolutionized and inspired the thoughts of youth the most.
Consequently, kings turned against him giving him two options to either leave Athens or drink hemlock to the answer of which he felt appreciated in drinking hemlock rather than leaving Athens.
"Philosopher can die not his philosophy."
So his thoughts lived and changed the pattern of thinking of the people of Athens.
