The House of Finwë The House of Finwe was a large Noldorin royal house that held the High Kingship of the Noldor. Its device was that of a great golden sun, even though Finwë was slain before the Sun was made. The House had at least three branches; the House of Feanor, the House of Fingolfin and House of Finarfin. During the early years of the First Age, the House of Fingolfin held the lands to the northwest of Beleriand; Hithlum, Nevrast and Gondolin. Of these, the city of Gondolin held until I 510, but Hithlum was overrun by Morgoth in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, where Fingon was slain
